WILLOW — People who enjoy country finger-pickin’ guitar music in the Chet Atkins style will want to get a listen to Ron Wise’s debut CD, “Ron’s Point of View.”
Wise’s CD is available around Willow and Talkeetna, as well as at Budget Tapes and Records in Wasilla. It’s also available by contacting Wise directly, either through the mail or via e-mail. His address is P.O. Box 1013, Willow, AK 99688, and his e-mail address is rpov@gci.net. People can catch Ron Wise playing live every Saturday night, as Wise joins with other musicians to form the Willow Creek Band, and they play every Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the VFW Post 1685, which is Spenard in Anchorage.
“It’s just a jam session-type of music,” Wise said. He’ll also be playing at the Alaska Trade Festival on Oct. 4 at the Sullivan Arena. At noon and 1 p.m., he’ll be performing at the Alaska Music Artists Booth at the festival.
In the future, Wise is hoping to offer a video of the making of the CD, which includes footage of his breathtaking Hatcher Pass cabin, a source of inspiration in the music-making process „ complete with three grizzly bears walking through his front yard.
