Wasilla resident Miss Rose Peck, 88, died Feb. 15, 2004, of old age, at Sunrise Manor in Wasilla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Selk, Edward Peck, Casey Waltman and Jim Giaconelli.
Miss Peck was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Pilot Station, Alaska. She lived in Wasilla with her sister and brother-in-law Olga and Ernie Peck all of her life.
She attended Wasilla High School.
She was an active member of the Catholic Church in Wasilla and hosted the annual parish picnics at the family home by Wasilla Lake for many years.
Miss Peck was also a member of Wasilla Homemakers for many years and helped start the Wasilla Library.
She enjoyed drawing, gardening, fishing, berry picking and camping.
Her family wrote, "Rose grew up near the Wasilla Lake on the Peck Farm. She took care of the gardening and milked the cows. She took care of children around the Valley. She loved fishing and camping."
Her sister Olga Peck and brother John Tellakpelak preceded Miss Peck in death.
She is survived by her niece, Rosie Selk.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla.
