May 14, 2026 Rosemarie K. Ortiz was born on July 6, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. On May 14, 2026, she passed away at home in Wasilla, Alaska, with her family by her side. Rose worked as a Manager/Auditor for Hartfield’s Department Store in Honolulu before later moving to Alaska to be closer to her daughters and their families. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing bingo, where she cultivated a large bingo family. Although Rose moved to Alaska, she never lost the Aloha Spirit. Some of her favorite things were Hawaiian food, Hawaiian music, and spending time with family and friends. We will miss her strength, kindness, and generous, loving nature. Rose had three children, Donnamarie, Cyndie, and David. She is survived by her two daughters and their partners, Donnamarie and Greg of Wasilla, and Cyndie and Dane of Wasilla. She also leaves behind her brother, Gino, and his family; her sister, Margie, and her family; her cousin, Jennie, and her family; along with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Don. Rose will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
