To the editor:
During his conformation hearing for state attorney general, Wayne Ross reaffirmed my support for his nomination.
When Sen. French asked who he would serve, the governor or the law, he responded,” the law.” He then added, “ I took an oath to uphold the constitutions of the United States and Alaska.”
Clearly he understands we live in a republic under the rule of law not the rule of men.
Unfortunately, a few Native and state Democratic leaders would prefer someone who would allow the granting of special privileges outside of our constitutional boundaries. To those who don’t like our constitutions there are provisions in place to change what you don’t like.
Do not expect to gain special privilege by ignoring our constitutions.
I am sure if that procedure was followed, Wayne Ross would still be honoring his oath and upholding our founding documents.
Gov. Palin has selected a true defender of freedom shame on those who oppose his nomination.
