U.S. Supreme Court decision means victory for every American family. The Supreme Court’s ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act will mean affordable health care for countless Americans regardless of their income. Some have claimed that the health care reform will be the death of America’s medical and insurance industry, but I am one of millions of Americans who welcome it with open arms.
Here’s why: The ACA ensures health coverage is available to people who were previously denied health insurance because of a pre-existing condition and had been uninsured for at least six months.
The health care law strengthens Medicare and provides access to preventive services and prescription drug discounts for seniors.
At least 80 percent of our premiums must go toward actual medical services, protecting families and small businesses from unreasonable rates. Insurance companies must also now justify any rate increase of 10 percent or more.
I stand by the U.S Supreme Court’s decision because with this reform dawns an age of great health for Americans young and old, rich or poor; ideals that our wonderful country was built upon.
