Spirits were high and temperatures were low Sunday morning at Knik Lake where die hard snowmachine enthusiasts gathered to show off and race their works of art. To be considered ‘vintage’ snowmachines needed to be pre-1985 models.

The sun was shining and the smell of 2 cycle exhaust filled the air, at 12:30 racers lined up on the starting line for the first race. There were a total of 7 classes; 0-300, 0-400, 0-500, Open, 0-440 Stock, Over 45, and Over 55.

After the races the riders were awarded trophies and a Show-N-Shine was held, sleds were judged based on best consumer machine, race sled, and people's choice.

Six times per year riders bring out their vintage machines and race on the track at Knik Lake, this was the last race of the season, the Show-N-Shine event was an afterthought put together by Richard Knox, and Victor Knott.
