‘Run for the Refuge’ results announced

PALMER HAY FLATS — Dozens of runners and families turned out Saturday for the annual Run for the Refuge event benefiting Alaskans for Palmer Hay Flats.

William Tarantino finished with the top time in the 10-kilometer run in 41 minutes, 50 seconds. In the 5K race, Noah Ripley’s 21:20 effort was enough to win by more than three minutes. For kids age 7 and younger, Isabelle Orland and Weston Sensabaugh were the fastest, finishing in a tie for tops in the youth 100 yard dash in 24 seconds.
