PALMER— Bleeding Heart Brewery is at it again. Community-minded, beverage-loving members of the community are invited to walk, bike, or run in the annual Running of the Beers 5 and Still Alive event during Colony Christmas next Saturday, Dec. 11 in downtown Palmer.
This year’s race features a three-mile course arranged by AKtive Soles Performance Footwear. The course starts at Bleeding Heart and ends at Alaska Picker.
Participants can register up until the starting date to secure a pre-race beer or other beverage in Bleeding Heart’s outdoor beer garden. They can also enjoy their drinks after the race if they prefer.
The first 25 people to register will receive a free pair of Pink Silkies for the race.
Running of the Beers starts at 4 p.m. Participants are asked to be at Bleeding Heart by 3 p.m. with their ID, and to park somewhere in town or on the street and walk over since the parking lot will be closed.
Anyone over the age of 21 who’s interested in this community event is encouraged to come down and “drink, then run like you give a damn!”
Registration is $5 cash at any of the sponsor locations, including Bleeding Heart, and AKtive Soles, and Alaska Picker.
