One of the many benefits of running for governor is meeting folks you might not have otherwise met. Mayor Verne Rupright is one of those people.
One thing that impresses me about Verne is he has never forgotten how hard he worked to get where he is today. He frequently talks about his nail pounding days. Verne is a problem solver, not a politician sitting on his hands waiting for the next election. I would like to think all elected officials seek office for the right reason. Verne is definitely one of those who serves for the right reason, which is to contribute his time and talents to the betterment of his community.
I am so impressed with all Verne has accomplished as mayor of Wasilla. I am proud to call Verne Rupright a friend and I know Wasilla will be very well served with Mayor Rupright at the helm for another term.
