To the editor:
I do not live in Wasilla, but have watched its growth over the years. The impact of the fastest growing community in Alaska is the envy of the rest of Alaska.
My family has been in the Valley since 1952.
Wasilla needs a mayor who will work to keep Alaska in the character of Wasilla and who will work to reduce the impact of government on the residents and businesses of Wasilla.
I have known Verne Rupright since the early ’90s.
I know him to be a good family man, a conservative fiscally and politically, and man of integrity and honor. Verne is one of the few men in this life to whom I would entrust my life. That is how highly I regard him.
Verne is a Vietnam veteran, a former captain in the Alaska Army National Guard, and a former officer and leader in the Alaska State Defense Force.
Verne’s sacrifice and commitment to his community and Alaska was selfless in his service in the ASDF, AK ARNG and in trying to make Wasilla a better place to live.
Verne is an avid shooter. I know that Verne will protect our Second Amendment and Art. 1 Sec. 19 rights to own and bear arms as an individual right. You will not get politics as usual with Verne Rupright. He deals with problems in an intelligent and forthright manner. He is a leader. Anyone who has listened to his speeches and who has spoken with him knows this.
He will speak his mind and be direct and transparent in his administration, just as he has over this term.
I encourage the voters of Wasilla to support a proven conservative who will work in your best interests. Please vote Verne Rupright for Mayor.
