When you go camping, do you get out of your tent and see people fishing in a lake, pond or river? Well, when I go camping I see people all the time fishing and having a fun time. I see the families laughing, telling jokes, and playing games, like seeing who is going to catch the biggest fish. Would you want to take that joy away? Some people do want to take it away.
That’s why I want to stop the Pebble Mine, for two reasons. First, it will kill all the fish running down the coast of Dillingham. That is important reason because fish are what a lot of people depend on for food. Also it’s always a good time to fish in Alaska, and have fun with your family.
The second reason why we should stop the Pebble Mine is that thousands and thousands of people will be out of jobs. Tons of people need fish because they have to get money, so lots of people will be out of money. The people will not be able to afford food, the rent for their house, etc.
In conclusion, if we do stop the Pebble Mine, the fish will still be alive, so the people can go fishing and have a fun time, since the Pebble Mine will kill all the fish. Also, people won’t be out of jobs, and people can have that joy back with their family and friends. So that’s why I think we should stop the Pebble Mine.
