After allegations regarding a local middle school staff member surfaced recently on social media, the Wasilla Police Department and Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District have opened an investigation.
“The Mat-Su Borough School District is aware of concerns regarding a staff member at Houston Middle School and has taken appropriate action in accordance with district policies and procedures,” John Notestine, Public Information Officer for MSBSD, said. “At this time, we have not received any reports or concerns involving Houston Middle School students. While confidentiality laws limit the details we can share, the safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority.”
The Wasilla Police Department also could not provide further details at this time.
“I can confirm that there is an active investigation,” wrote Amanda Graham, the Public Information Officer with WPD.
