Scout food driveWASILLA — The annual Scouting for Food Drive was held Dec. 3, and local Wasilla Cub Scout Pack 300, with volunteers, gathered a total of 3,332 pounds of food.
The food was collected to support a local food bank and the Cub Scouts with a friendly competition between Shaw and Larson Elementary schools.
The winner of the competition receives a trophy presented by Cub Scout Pack 300. This year’s winner was Larson Elementary School, which gathered a total of 2,018 pounds of food during the drive.
Shaw Elementary School also fared well, turning in 1,314 pounds of food.
The trophy will be presented to Larson Elementary School Principal Annie Bill.
