Screaming Eagle Archery of Alaska hosting ladies nights

Screaming Eagle Archery of Alaska will be hosting Ladies Only Archery Nights every first Wednesday of the month during the winter starting in November at their Wasilla location. These shoots provide women with a chance to get out with their friends and other like-minded archers.

“I like to get the ladies involved where they’re comfortable and don’t feel like they’re at a disadvantage,” Co-owner Beth Alderman said.

Ladies Only Nights cost $20 and shooters have access to a variety of 3D targets at varying distances. These shoots are designed for women that already have their own archery equipment.

A Beginner Archery Night for Ladies will be held on November 22 for women that have no equipment or may have never shot a bow. Beth will be teaching archery fundamentals and helping new shooters become comfortable operating equipment. Those interested are encouraged to call the shop to reserve a spot and the price is $30.

Alderman said she looks forward to meeting more ladies that are interested in archery and get them involved in the sport. Alderman said she has wanted to host nights like these to address the growing interest in women archers.

“In the last year or so, I’ve had more ladies coming into the shop buying bows, getting involved in it,” Alderman said. “Keeping something up so the ladies have something to do during the winter when there’s not much to do.”
