Seahawks sweep Hawks basketball squads

HOUSTON — The Seward Seahawks swept the Houston Hawks during the Houston basketball programs’ season-opener last Saturday at Houston High.

Jace Taylor and Matt Barron each collected 14 points for the Houston boys, but Seward came away with a 53-38 win over the Hawks. Seward opened the game with an 18-6 first-quarter run.

The Seward girls beat Houston 38-27. Savannah Wells scored 16 points to lead Houston.
