Search ends for Wasilla man missing in Cook Inlet

COOK INLET — An extensive multi-agency search for a missing Wasilla man was called off early Monday evening.

Alaska State Troopers say around 12:19 a.m., Oct. 7 the U.S. Coast Guard reported that Peter McNeal, 28, of Wasilla was missing after he fell into Cook Inlet while transferring from a skiff to a tugboat. He was not wearing a life jacket, troopers say.

Anchorage Department, the Rescue Coordination Center, U.S. Coast Guard and troopers searched throughout the day, but the effort was discontinued about 6 p.m., Oct. 7, according to a trooper dispatch.

McNeal is listed as a missing person, troopers say.
