BIG LAKE — An extensive search of the Big Lake area ended Friday evening after Alaska State Troopers found no further trace of a missing 81-year-old man whose truck was found a few miles from his cabin there.
Wallace Wilkinson Dunn was last seen July 12 and was reported missing July 16 by his family, who last saw him at an Anchorage soccer game, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Castro.
The search expanded from Anchorage to the Valley after his F-150 pickup was located July 17 at the end of Susitna Parkway, Alaska State Troopers spokesperson Megan Peters said.
Troopers led an extensive search of the area that continued through Friday evening, Castro said, but did not uncover additional clues about Dunn’s disappearance.
She said search efforts would resume if new leads arise or information indicates a new place to search.
The search for Dunn included multiple agencies — including Mat-Su Search and Rescue — and included search dogs on the ground and an aerial search using Helo-2, Castro said in a July 19 press release.
To report information about Dunn’s whereabouts, contact police at (907) 786-8900.
