PALMER — The Palmer Moose will start the 2010 season the same way they ended the 2009 campaign, playing the Chugiak Mustangs.
Palmer hosts the Mustangs in a rematch of last year’s state semifinal battle Saturday at 4 p.m. at Machetanz Field in Palmer.
“It’s exciting to have a matchup like that,” Palmer head coach Rod Christiansen said last week. “Coming off last year, that’s some very interesting schedule-making.”
Palmer will try to avenge a 24-21 overtime loss to the Mustangs.
Wasilla kicks off the action for Mat-Su programs tonight in Soldotna. The Warriors face the Stars, a perennial small-schools power, at 6:30 p.m. at Soldotna High School.
Three Valley teams are in action Saturday. Houston is at Valdez at 1 p.m. Colony travels to Anchorage to face Dimond at 7 p.m.
