WASILLA — Authorities on Tuesday apprehended a second man wanted in connection with an April 1 shooting in the Caswell Lakes area, authorities said.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force and the Alaska State Troopers Special Crimes Investigative Unit arrested Nicholas Ganoe, 26, of Anchorage at a residence in Houston, according to a state troopers’ media release. Nicholas Ganoe was sought since April 1 for his part in a shooting along Passthebait Avenue, along with his brother, Charles Ganoe, 28, also of Anchorage.
Nicholas Ganoe was also involved in a reckless driving incident on April 8 in Anchorage according to court documents. He was wanted on a separate $10,000 cash or corporate warrant for the April 8 incident.
Troopers arrested Charles Ganoe on April 5.
Nicholas Ganoe was in Mat-Su Pre-trial Wednesday morning pending an 11:30 a.m. arraignment, after being held on a no-bail warrant. Charles Ganoe remained in Goose Creek Correctional facility on a $50,000 cash or corporate bail with a court-appointed third-party custody requirement.
Both Nicholas and Charles Ganoe face charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. Nicholas Ganoe also faces third-degree weapons misconduct charges.
Also arrested on Tuesday in Houston was Frieda Gillespie, 43, of Houston, who was charged with first-degree hindering prosecution.
“On 4/19/16 the U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force along with K-9 Helo and members of the Alaska State Troopers Special Crimes Investigative Unit arrested Nicholas Ganoe on his outstanding warrants. Located at the residence was 43-year-old Houston residence, Frieda Gillespie who was subsequently arrested for Hindering Prosecution I. Gillespie was transported to and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial without incident, and is being held on a $5,000 bail.”
