WASILLA — Although the $4 million Seldon Road Extension from Church Road to Beverly Lake Road will open July 29, some construction continues and work zone speed limits will be in effect along with double fines.

Travelers may experience minor delays. The contractor is installing signs and culverts this week and next, as well as speed tables in early August.

ATVs and motorbike users are asked not to ride on the newly-seeded embankments as it will cause damage the grass and the dirt work it protects from erosion.

The project is part of a new east-west corridor envisioned from Palmer to Houston.

This phase connects Church Road to Pittman Road, via Beverly Lake Road. The next phase of the Seldon extension project will build a new section of road to connect Seldon to Pittman Road, a step currently in the design process.
