MEADOW LAKES — Alaska State Troopers report they arrested a man just up the road from their post selling switchblades and brass knuckles.
According to an AST press statement, the tip about James Hummer, 64, of Willow, possibly selling illegal weapons, came in at 4:30 p.m., Thursday.
Troopers caught up with Hummer near the intersection of Parks Highway and Pittman Road. The Mat-Su West trooper post overlooks that intersection.
Hummer’s weapons were seized and he was handed a summons ordering him to appear in court on weapons misconduct charges.
The criminal statutes cited in the trooper press releases deem it a crime when, among other things, a person “manufactures, sells or transfers a switchblade or gravity knife.” The same goes for “metal knuckles.”
