PALMER — Jarred Yanez pitched a gem and the Palmer Moose posted a Southcentral Conference victory on the road.
Yanez tossed a one-hitter and led the Moose to a 5-2 win over Kenai Central Friday in Kenai. Yanez, who fanned 14 Kardinals, pitched a complete game in the win. Cody Grogan led the Moose at the plate, finishing 3 for 4 with three runs driven in. Grogan also scored a run.
Yanez added a hit and two runs scored. Damion Bailey collected a pair of hits for the Moose.
Jakeb O’Brien had the lone Kenai hit.
