WASILLA — Clancey O’Donnell scored the game-winning run to give Wasilla a 5-4 extra-inning win over North Pole Thursday at Houston High School.
It was part of a huge night for the senior first baseman. O’Donnell, a team captain, finished 3 for 3 with three runs scored. He sparked the Warriors with a solo home run in the second inning. Nolan Murphy finished with two hits and a run. Jacob Gilbert also scored.
Kodiak 12, Palmer 2
Kodiak beat Palmer 12-2 Friday in Kodiak, handing Palmer their first loss of the year.
Palmer used two runs in the fifth to cut Kodiak’s lead to 4-2, but the Bears capped the game with eight unanswered runs. Lucas Adams and Kaj Taylor finished with two hits and a run each for Palmer.
Palmer 10, Kenai 0
Palmer’s 10-0 win over Kenai Thursday was its second straight lopsided victory of the season. The Moose beat Redington 16-1 earlier in the week.
Luke Guggenmos led the Moose with thee hits, three runs and two RBI. Keegan Norma also scored three times. Owen Hayes added tow hits and two RBI. Lucas Adams finished with two hits and a run.
Landon Guggenmos pitched the five-inning complete game shutout. He scattered five hits and fanned four.
