WASILLA — The Wasilla Area Senior Center’s phone-a-thon ends Friday. The center has raised $25,000 so far, half of its target amount.
Some of the more notable donations include $5,000 from the Mat-Su Health Foundation and the profits of Bingo Mania’s games on Wednesday, said executive director Sondra Kaplan.
“We are hoping for a last minute push to get the funds,” she said.
Donations can be made by calling the center at (907) 367-3104 or by mailing checks to Wasilla Area Seniors, 1301 Century Circle, Wasilla, AK 99654.
“The seniors took care of us for a long time. It’s time for us to take care of them,” Kaplan said. “Think of your grandma or grandpa. Would you want them to go hungry?”
