WASILLA — Ben Ross smacked a home run, and Wasilla blasted South 13-4 at McManus Field on Monday.
Dalton McHugill and Jacob Butcher collected three hits each for the Warriors. Ross and McHugill both drove in three runs. Matt Palmer was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI.
Jacob Butcher, Tyler Hansen and Nolan Monoghan combined to strike out 12 South hitters. Butcher earned the win on the mound.
Todd Ryan continues Friday
WASILLA — The annual Todd Ryan Memorial American Legion baseball tournament continues today at McManus Field in Wasilla.
The six-team field features a pair of teams from outside Alaska. Programs from Vermont and California are in the tourney.
Palmer, Bartlett, East and host Wasilla rounds out the field.
Pool play concludes Friday with Palmer meeting the Vermont squad at 10 a.m. Wasilla hosts the California squad at 7 p.m.
Pool play will determine Saturday’s schedule. The championship game is slated for Sunday at 6 p.m.
