ANCHORAGE — The Service Cougars used a 22-point fourth quarter and 41-point second half to bury the Houston Hawks 71-48 during the first round of the Service Tip-Off at Service High School on Thursday.
Adam and Nate Klie scored 20 points each to lead the host Cougars to the first-round victory.
Senior Zack Qual sank three of Houston’s six three-pointers, and recorded a team-high 16 points in the loss. Sophomore Scott Kramer added 12 points.
Houston will play either Palmer today at 3:45 p.m. in consolation action.

Grizzlies claw past Moose
Grace Christian used a 14-2 second-half run to score a 50-31 win over Palmer during the first round of the Service Tip-Off at Service High School on Thursday.
The teams were tied 11-11 at the end of the first, before Grace's big second quarter.
Senior Kyle Titus and sophomore Sean Niekamp scored 10 each for Palmer. Christian Odom added seven.
