Commuters making their way through the busy Seward Meridian Parkway may have noticed a change in the landscape over the past few weeks as road crews have begun clearing the land for the expansion to the through-way. It is all part of Phase II Palmer-Wasilla Highway to Seldon Road project.

The plan calls for an upgrade and widening to the Seward Meridian Parkway from the Palmer-Wasilla Highway to Bogard Road. It will accommodate four travel lanes and extend the road to Seldon Road.

Work also includes a new separated path along the west side of Seward Meridian Parkway, lighting, a bridge over Cottonwood Creek, and new traffic signals at East Country Field Circle, East Meridian Park Loop / East Birch View Drive, Bogard Road, Tambert Drive, and Seldon Road.

Drivers are advised to remain alert to intermittent flagging along Seldon Road and the Seward Meridian Parkway and to be mindful of debris and workers as crews clear brush and trees.
