Sex offender jailed for not registering

PALMER - Jason Hitesman, 26, a convicted child sex offender from Houston, was arrested in Palmer on Friday.

According to Alaska State Trooper reports, Hitesman was involved in a motor vehicle collision, where investigation revealed that he hadn't registered as a sex offender in the last year.

He was transported to Mat-Su Pre Trial and bail was set for $500.

According to court records from 2002, Hitesman pleaded no contest to four charges of sexual abuse of a minor. His sentence included serving 730 days in jail, verification of information once a year for at least 15 years and three years of probation.
