WASILLA — One Wasilla basketball team dropped and another dropped out completely of the latest prep basketball polls released by the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches.
In the 4A girls poll, Wasilla — which suffered consecutive losses during the final two rounds of the Lady Lynx Shootout at Dimond High School last week — is now ranked second. The Warriors had been No. 1 for the entire season up to this week. Juneau-Douglas, which beat Wasilla in the Shootout semifinals, is now ranked first. Juneau is the defending state champion.
Colony, which beat a pair of ranked opponents to move into the Shootout title game, is ranked fourth in the latest poll.
