To the editor:
Whoever stole our produce from our Alaska State Fair Garden Display should be ashamed. You undoubtedly recognized the carrot, beets, beans, potatoes and other familiar vegetables that you pilfered. You probably didn't recognize Fava beans (Broad Beans). Part of the blame belongs to the fair for allowing you to take our stuff, but most of the fault is the thief's. We enter the Garden Display almost every year because we get our produce back. We seldom enter individual vegetables due to the fact that we lose any produce entered. The Garden Displays belong to the exhibitors, not the fair. Thank you for not taking our pumpkins (but you did take our winter squash) and the display props. It appears that ours was the only exhibit stolen, so that may mean we will not enter the fair again.
