WASILLA — Looking for a way to test your mettle while helping Mat-Su non-profits?
Why not sign up to be part of the ninth annual Mat-Su Polar Plunge event Feb. 16, 2013, at Wasilla Lake Resort? Registration starts at 10 a.m., and jumping begins at noon.
Individuals or teams can sign up online to collect at least $100 in pledges for the Mat-Su Sertoma Club’s annual fundraiser. The goal this year is to raise $30,000 and give it to two local nonprofit organizations.
Jumper registration forms are online at matsuplunge.org. Jumpers younger than 18 need parental consent.
Nonprofit organizations have until Dec. 31 to apply to receive this year’s grants. Applications are online at matsuplunge.org.
Volunteers also are needed to help with the event. To volunteer, contact candace@matsuhearing.org.
Year-round from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month, Sertoma provides free hearing screening to residents at Wasilla Physical Therapy, 3750 E. Country Field Circle, Suite A (next to Geneva Woods Pharmacy).
