WASILLA — Relay For Life of Mat-Su is holding its first ever “Paint It Purple 1-kilometer and 5-kilometer run April 18 at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center, along with the Women’s Fair that day.
Register online at relayforlifeofmatsu.org. On-site registration opens at 9:30 a.m. on race day (follow the signs).
The run will begin promptly at 10 a.m., starting with the 1K run for kids, followed by the 5K run for adults, and/or children who choose to run with an adult.
Cost is $20 per registrant. Registration includes paint packet and bib. The first 100 people to register will receive free commemorative t-shirts. T-shirts and additional paint will be available on site for purchase.
A contained area with a play and paint station will be available as a childcare option, monitored by a Relay For Life team, for a donation. This area will be a fun, safe place for little ones to play and get painted while the grown-ups and big kids have fun on their run.
Come support this first ever event and help Mat-Su lead the way in the fight against cancer. Get ready for the June 24-25 Relay For Life event at the Menard Center.
Note the venue change, and watch the Frontiersmen for further details in the weeks to come.
