Simple act of kindness is priceless

To the editor:

In a recent Wasilla windstorm as I got out of my car at the bank, the wind tore my brand new handmade hat off my head.

I watched it fly off with the wind.

I did not see the kind young man who jumped over the cement retaining wall and chased it down to return it to me.

Being a senior now in the town where I have lived 37 years, I was overtaken with emotion in his simple act of kindness.

Thank you, young man, from the bottom of my heart. It’s just one more reason why I love Alaska and its good people.
