WASILLA — Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is hosting its first annual Easter Egg Hunt and Family Event April 16.
Local families are invited to celebrate Easter with a number of child-friendly activities. Sleepy Hollow Executive Assistant Allie Nadon said there will be egg hunting opportunities based on age groups on top of other activities such as bounce castles, egg dying and painting workshops, and games.
“The views are amazing. Once you’re out here, it’s gorgeous,” Nadon said.
Nadon said their staff is gathering sponsorships from various local businesses to make this event free to the public. She said this is their first year running community events at the golf course.
“We want to make it different by making it more of a community center and activity place for families,” Nadon said.
Sleepy Hollow is currently run by Nadon Family Homes, an agency that offers a range of services assisting those with special needs such as group home, day habilitation, and supported employment for adults. Nadon Family Homes acquired the golf course in the fall of 2020 and employs local adults with special needs who work various positions across the grounds.
“We value all-inclusive employment,” Nadon said.
According to Nadon, overall operations have been faring well at Sleepy Hollow. She said they’re gearing up for The start of their summer golf season toward the end of May. This includes tee time, classes, virtual golf, and summer camps for various age groups.
Looking long-term, Nadon said they’re looking to expand their overall operation with various projects including the addition of a pizza restaurant, a barn for field trips and other educational opportunities, and a pub after they acquire their liquor license.
