To the editor:
As an old Marine, I would like to say that if I had to be in the Marine Corps today, I would proudly follow Marine Dan Sullivan (present U.S. Senator) to hell and back. Senator Sullivan, with the courage of a few others — the 46 signers of the letter sent to Iran from the U.S. Senate — is taking a stand toward slowing down the total destruction of our country. The U.S. Congress today is working toward legislation that will require congressional approval of any agreement with Iran in dealing with nuclear activities.
My personal thoughts toward the people whom are part of the Iran Nuclear Deal representing America, such as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry (who threw the U.S. military under the bus during the Vietnam War) and the less-than-trustworthy U.S. President Barack Obama, leaves me thinking how “stupid” our government is and how naïve are the people who are supporting this boondoggle.
I would not serve with the likes of John Kerry, nor do I trust either Obama or Kerry dealing with Iran. As this old Marine still recalls, when Kerry ran for President, his fellow military veterans questioned his military service records. Because of these issues he was voted down. Yet even today the “stupid” would take Kerry and Obama over the U.S. Congress and the 76 percent of the nation that think this is a very poor deal. An old Marine once told me, “the older you get you will find that some of those you fought against while doing your duty in the Corps were better people than what you have to live among now.” This has been demonstrated very well by three or four letters to the editor of late, depicting Senator Sullivan and 46 other senators as traitorous because they want the country and the U.S. Constitution left intact.
