To the editor,
As the Director of Rehabilitation at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, I am proud to say that Alaska and our delegation recognizes that no one should have to work in an environment that places them at risk of some very chronic and life threatening diseases.
My work here at MSRMC includes work place safety and employee work safety. It is not enough to just employ people; you must invest in them and their health and wellbeing. Because of this mission, it makes all the sense in the world for me to support a statewide smoke-free indoor workplace law. The Alaska work force will benefit from this legislation and I hope the Alaska legislature will make sure it passes this year!
