Due to the snowfall last Friday we didn't make it to the Hip Hop workout class. I was bummed but didn't want to try to rush around after work, I was already looking at a small amount of time to get my daughter from daycare and head back to the gym. So we went to the gym Saturday and worked out instead. I was very pleased with the scale - I have lost 6 lbs. since our original weigh in at the doctor's office. YAY! I am officially encouraged to keep up this weight loss thing. I am hoping that I continue to lose weight, I have heard about a "plateau" stage but I am trying not to dwell on that.
Our workout was fairly easy and rewarding. After 15 minutes on the bikes we did a weight training workout on the Nautilus equipment. And then again on the bikes for another 15 minutes. I was pretty sore yesterday and treated myself to a day on the couch watching the Superbowl. I didn't snack on any of the traditional Superbowl foods though, just 1/2 cup of trail mix. I have noticed that if I eat well several times a day I don't get the urge to snack on junk like I used to, this is progress!
I was feeling pretty good about the 6 lbs. so I revisited my pile of clothes that I will be able to fit back in to "some day". Well, "some day" isn't quite here yet but it's getting closer! I can ALMOST zip up a pair of pants that I LOVE that I wore before I had my second child. Not quite there, but ALMOST. And almost is good for me right now. I will wait a few weeks and try again. I also decided that I will only weigh myself once a week. I tend to obsess over things and weighing daily can be discouraging - from what I hear. I am also going to try to weigh myself at the same time once a week. I have also heard that this is the most accurate way to determine lost weight.
We are going to the Kickboxing class again tonight. I am really looking forward to class, it is so much fun!
Until next time….
