NIKISKI — The Wasilla Warriors started a three-game tour of the Kenai Peninsula with a 4-0 girls' soccer win over Nikiski at Nikiski High Thursday.
Abby Crawford and Ally Hull scored two goals each for the Warriors, who didn't allow a shot on goal.
In boys' action, Wasilla played to a 1-1 tie against Nikiski.
Colony boys knock off West
ANCHORAGE — Freshman Noah Krozel scored during the 65th minute to help Colony score a 3-2 nonconference win over West Anchorage in Anchorage Thursday.
Ben Sande scored twice for Colony, recording goals during the 24th and 35th minutes. Alex Valdez assisted on both goals.
West scored both of its goals during a two-minute span early in the second half.
Palmer girls blank Kodiak
PALMER — Freshman Delaney Shults and senior Victoria Johnson each grabbed a first-half goal to help Palmer post a 3-0 girls soccer win over Kodiak Monday.
Tiana Lee also scored for the Moose. Desi Molina and Victoria Banks split the shutout in the Moose goal.
Warriors post win, tie against Kodiak
Caitlin Bailes used a four-point night to help Wasilla post a 12-0 girls’ soccer win over Kodiak at Wasilla High School.
Bailes was one of five Warriors to score at least two goals in the win. Ally Hull led Wasilla with a hat trick. Phoebe Christiansen, Haley Brandon and Amelia Butler also scored twice for Wasilla. Abby Crawford added a goal. Freshman Aleks Kvalheim earned the shutout in net.
Nazur Pavlus netted a late direct kick to help Wasilla force a 1-1 boys’ soccer tie with Kodiak Tueday at Wasilla High School.
Knights, Lynx draw
With 14 shots on net each, the Colony Knights and Dimond Lynx played to a 3-3 tie Tuesday night at Colony High School.
Cade Johnstone used a direct kick during the 75th minute to force the tie for the Knights. The score capped a rally for the Knights, who fell behind with a pair of Dimond goals within a two-minute stretch of the first half. Dimond knocked in a loose ball off a scramble during the 21st minute to grab a lead, and extended the advantage with Elijah McKenzie-Moses’ score in the 23rd minute.
Ben Sande struck first for the Knights, burying a shot during injury time late in the first half. Alex Valdez sent a through ball forward to set up the score. Noah Krozel scored early in the second half to knot the match at 2.
McKenzie-Moses gave the Lynx the 3-2 lead during the 48th minute.
Hawks fall in Homer
The Houston Hawks dropped a pair of Northern Lights Conference games in Homer Thursday.
The Homer girls won 3-0 and the Mariners played to a 9-0 boys' win.
