Special Olympics Alaska Winter Games cancelled

The Special Olympics Alaska Winter Games have been cancelled.

“At the direction of Special Olympics International all sport training and competition activities and other programs involving Special Olympics athletes worldwide will be suspended through March 31 due to concerns around the spread of CORVID-19,” according to a press release issued by Special Olympics Alaska Monday.

The Alaska Winter Games were scheduled for March 13-15. Hundreds of athletes and volunteers from across the state were expected to participate.
