Special session a ripoff

To the editor:

So, the Governor calls a special session to pass ripping off all Alaskans on our PFD, wants more taxes and wants to screw with the money owed under Sarah Palin’s ACES. He gets none of it. Why? Because We the People were willing to testify against at committee hearings that went on and on. We called and wrote our Legislators to not pass.

Now what does he do? He acts like a child and demands the same thing all over again! Depending on whom you talk to, cost of this last session was 375,000 to as high as a million dollars! Now Governor Walker wants to do that all over again, thinking he can brow beat Alaskans and our Legislators into passing what we said no to this last session? Really?

I call on the House and Senate to either Gavel in and Gavel out and force Governor Walkers hand to continually call a new special session, that would best be done in Anchorage where we can get 21 members present. Better and less ! costly approach is to stay in Juneau and do Technical Sessions every other 3 days, only need an acting Speaker/President and acting Majority and Minority members. We can do that for 30 days with minimal costs.

Governor Walker, put you big boy pants on and act like a man or if you choose to act the child, the Legislature can act the parent and put you over their knee!

Mike Coons,

Palmer
