club tryouts
The Chugiak Soccer Club is conducting competitive soccer tryouts for the upcoming fall and/or winter seasons on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mirror Lake Middle School fields off the N. Peters Creek exit.

Volleyball club tryouts
Northern Lights Volleyball Club announces tryouts for the upcoming middle school girls' program. Tryouts for players from sixth through eighth grades will be held at Palmer Junior Middle School on Monday, September 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There is no cost to tryout, but players must wear knee pads and court shoes.
Northern Lights Volleyball Club emphasizes participation and skill building for this age level of player. Practices are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at PJMS from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In house tournaments are held locally.
The volleyball season runs through mid-December.
Player fees are $300 with payment plans available. Membership includes a sweatshirt, practice shirts and shorts.

Power volleyball
Valley Volleyball League is sponsering power volleyball for adults.This session of the league caters to adults wanting to play a fast game of organized volleyball to improve their skills. There will be open games as well as in-house matches and tournaments. Teams may also chose to compete in Anchorage. This is a great way to get exercise and stay in shape during the winter months.
The league will play at Palmer Junior Middle School, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Registration must be completed and a league fee of $30 must be paid, prior to participating.
