Fast pitch camp

A fast pitch coaches' and athletes' camp will be held in Anchorage, Jan. 16-18

Leading the camp is Cindy Bristow, director of development for the International Softball Federation, a 20-year veteran trainer of coaches and national level athletes. She is joined by Jen McFalls, 2000

USA Olympic gold medalist.

Registration is $50 and the deadline is Jan. 9.

The camp is sponsored by the Alaska Amateur Softball Association in cooperation with USA Softball.

Chris Hale memorial

The fifth annual Chris Hale memorial hockey game is Friday, Dec. 26 at 8:45 p.m. at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena.

All local hockey alumni from Palmer, Wasilla, Colony and Houston are invited to play.

ABC

hoops camp

ABC Alaska is hosting a Christmas basketball camp Dec. 27- Jan. 3.

This six-day camp features five daily two-hour sessions for athletes

aged 7-17.

Each session includes shooting instruction and drills, scrimmaging and instruction emphasizing the transition game, pick and roll motion offense, teamwork, rebounding and defense.

The cost of the camp is $95. Each participant receives a T-shirt and chance to win awards in contests sponsored by the clinic.

The camp is sponsored by the Wasilla High

School basketball booster club.

Power

volleyball league

Valley Volleyball League is sponsoring power volleyball for adults this winter.

This session of the league caters to adults wanting to play a fast game of organized volleyball to improve their skills.

There will be open games as well as in-house matches and tournaments.

Teams may also choose to compete in Anchorage. This is a great way to get exercise and stay in shape during the winter months.

The league plays at Palmer Junior Middle School, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Registration must be completed and a league fee of $30 must be paid, prior to participating.
