Adult basketball league signups set
MAT-SU - Enjoy a little winter competition by playing organized basketball.
The Matanuska Basketball Association (MBA), an adult recreational league, is being organized now for the season starting in late November. MBA will accept team packets until Nov. 10.
Games will be played one or two times per week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Team packets require player fees and sponsor commitments. Registration is required for individuals and for teams. Games will continue through March.

Start thinking about winter safety
BIG LAKE - The Big Lake Chamber of Commerce will present its sixth annual Winter Safety Clinic from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Big Lake Elementary School.
Several winter experts will be on hand to discuss specific safety procedures.
Winter safety speakers and topics include:
Alaska State Troopers - State snowmachine laws, rules and regulations.
Martin Buser - Trail etiquette.
Ranger John Wilber - Alaska State Parks use and regulations.
Tim McGhan - Trails project, Big Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Don Hudson, - Hypothermia, frostbite and other dangers.
Alaska Search and Survival Rescue Team - Winter survival.
Bill O'Hara - Snowmachine care and maintenance.
