Houston grad will take part in volleyball tour
BIG LAKE - Vanessa Fridley, daughter of Joan and David Fridley, of Big Lake, and a 2000 graduate of Houston High School, has been selected for the NBC Camps Volleyball Tour to Australia. She is one of more than 700 who tried out for the tour, which starts this summer.
Tee Off Against Breast Cancer golf tourney
MAT-SU - The Tee Off Against Breast Cancer golf tournament will be June 24, a Saturday, starting with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Settlers Bay Golf Course.
The 18-hole golf event is sponsored by the Valley Womens Golf Association. The entry fee is $50, which includes green fees, lunch and a donation to Komen Foundation.
