The Colony Knights earned the team title during the Monster Bash Duals wrestling tournament Oct. 30 at South Anchorage High School.

Colony defeated host South 37-34 during the final round to win the tourney.

Carter Silva edged South’s Beau Daily 5-4 in the 145-pound class to help the Knights get past the Wolverines. Colony is the Division I state champion. South finished third last year.

Sean Ritz (103 pounds), Blake Harris (112), Elias Cordell (119) and Elijah Larson (140) pinned their opponents. Daniel Van Slyke won by major decision at 285.

Colony was undefeated in the duals meet, also beating East Anchorage 54-20, Eagle River 78-6, Palmer 65-15, Soldotna 42-31 and Wasilla 54-27.

Wasilla and Palmer finished fourth and fifth in the seven-team tourney, The Warriors were 2-4 with wins over Palmer (36-34) and Eagle River (48-24). The Moose were also 2-4 with wins over Eagle River (51-18) and East (36-30).

A pair of Knights won their weight classes during the Monster Bash Women’s Tournament also at South. Sarah Callender (135) and Gia Jones (189) both finished first. Gracie Stigen (120), Nevaeh Maxson (125) and Kaitlyn Cottrell (145) placed second for the Knights.

The Redington Huskies won the Top Dog Invite Oct. 30 at Nikiski High School.

Redington finished with 234 points in the team standings. Myles Campbell (112) and Wyatt Milnes (171) won their weight class for the Huskies, and Ayden Draper (215) placed second.

Wasilla placed second in the team standings with 179.5 points. Achilles Alexander led the Warriors with a first-place finish at 103, and Peyton Wright was second at 112.

Keldin Nicoll finished second at 189 to lead Houston.
