The Colony Knights swept the first local prep swimming and diving meet of the season, the Colony Invitational Aug. 21 at the Palmer Pool.

Tyler Belliston and Kristofer Vangorder each won a pair of events to help the Knights finish with 187 total points in the boys class. Five different Colony swimmers won an individual event to help the Knights finish with 160 total points in the girls class.

Belliston placed first in both the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke, while Vangorder was first in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Hayden Woodring (200 freestyle), Xander Backus (diving) and Thomas Smith (500 freestyle) also won events for the Colony boys.

Joscelyn Barratte (50 freestyle), Avery Palenske (100 butterfly), Lori Houghton (500 freestyle), Josephine Rogness (100 backstroke) and Jasmine Anderson (100 breaststroke) all won individual events for the Colony girls.

The Colony boys also earned wins in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays, and Colony was first in the girls’ 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.

Palmer was second in both classes. The Palmer boys finished with 82 total points and the girls finished with 65 points.

Stewart Sawyer led the Palmer boys with a pair of wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. Ally Ferguson won both the 100 and 200 freestyle races to lead the Palmer girls. Hannah Nowers (200 individual medley) and Ally Hrncir (diving) also won events for the Palmer girls.
