WASILLA — Thanks to a walk-off win, the Palmer Moose are in the region semifinals.

Cade Holland scored on a Jason Gunderson single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Moose a 7-6 win over Grace Christian during the first day of the Southcentral Conference Championships. The score was part of a two-run seventh for Palmer, the defending conference champion. Holland used an RBI single push Owen Hayes across the plate and tie the score at 6.

Palmer took a 4-1 lead in the fourth, but Grace answered back with four runs in the following inning. Grace took a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh.

Brady Shults finished 4 for 4, with two runs and an RBI to lead the Moose. Shults was one of four different Moose to drive in a run. Kaj Taylor also had an RBI.

Hayes and Holland also scored two runs.

Landon Guggenmos pitched a complete game in the victory. He allowed eight hits and only one earned run. Guggenmos also fanned five and didn’t walk a batter.

Fourth-seeded Palmer will play top-seeded Wasilla Friday at 1 p.m. in the semifinals.

Wasilla 23, Kenai 3

Top-seeded Wasilla drilled Kenai 23-3 Thursday, during the first round of the conference tourney.

Bryce Frazier drove in a game-high four runs in the win. Clayton Boyett finished with three RBI and three runs scored. Nolan Murphy and AJ Camacho also scored three times. Thirteen different Warriors scored at least one run.

Colony 9, Homer 2

Colony senior Zach Satterly used his play on the mound and at the plate to help the Colony Knights move into the conference semifinals with a 9-2 win over Homer.

Satterly finished 3 for 4 in the win, drove in two runs and scored another. The senior also pitched a complete game, scattering four hits and two earned runs over seven innings of work.

Kaden Ketchum and Bryant Marks scored three runs each. Trace Severson and Ben Alley also drove in two runs each for Colony.

Mose Hays drove in both runs for the Mariners. Harrison Metz and Austin Ceccerelli each finished with a hit and run for Homer. Seth Adkins had two of Homer’s four hits in the loss.

The Knights move forward and play Kodiak Friday at 10 a.m. in the semifinals at Redington.

Homer 15, Redington 5

Homer bounced back from its loss to Colony with a 15-5 win over host Redington during elimination action on the first day of the tourney.

Seth Adkins drove in six runs for Homer. Eight different Mariners scored a run. Six different Homer players had at least one RBI. Karl Wickstrom led Homer with three runs scored.

Logan Seymour had a hit and run for the Huskies. Homer will play SoHi Friday at 10 a.m. in an elimination game.
