Luke Guggenmos and Bryant Marks drove in a pair of runs each to lead the Palmer Pioneers to a 7-4 Alliance Baseball League over Eagle River Thursday night at Lee Jordan Field in Chugiak.
Guggenmos finished 2 for 4 with the two RBI and a run scored for Palmer. Marks also scored a run. Brayden Methven added two hits, a run and an RBI. Evan Walker finished with a hit, run and RBI. Kaden Ketchum, Ben Alley and Keagan Norman also scored runs.
Palmer held a 4-0 run in the top of the third and added three more in the sixth.
The win over Eagle River came a night after Palmer beat West 11-5 in Anchorage. Methvin drove in a team-high three runs. Guggenmos was 2 for 2 with three runs scored, Alley scored twice and Walker had two RBI.
Palmer improved to 8-7 overall and 3-3 in league play with the wins.
Road Warriors blast Mustangs
Jacob Hansen drove in three runs from the lead-off spot to lead Wasilla to a 10-1 win over Chugiak Wednesday night.
Nolan Murphy and Logan Bailey combined to strike out 10, while allowing only four hits and one earned run. Murphy also drove in two runs. Hansen, Byson Malave and Calvin Still scored two runs each.
The South Open squad used a six-run second to get past Wasilla 7-4 Thursday night at McManus Field in Wasilla. Murphy led the Road Warriors with two hits, a run and an RBI.
