Gilbert was one of seven pitchers who combined for a three-hit shutout. The Road Warriors right-hander fanned two of the three batters he faced in the seventh inning. Murphy and Wanser were both 0 for 1 at the plate.

Palmer pitcher Ben Alley and outfielder Luke Guggenmos were part of the Alliance American Division’s 2-2 tie against the Legion Legends on Wednesday in Anchorage.

Alley earned the start on the mound, and pitched a scoreless first inning. Guggenmos finished 0 for 1 at the plate.

The Legion Legends team included five Alaska products selected in the MLB Draft, including former South Anchorage standout Jonny Homza who was selected San Diego in the fifth round in 2017. The team also includes six players who have been named the Alaska Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year.
