The Glenn Highway southbound has reopened after a two vehicle accident that sent one driver to the hospital.
A late model Jeep heading north around 8:30 am lost control and crossed the median rolling over several times. The vehicle then collided with a late model Dodge pickup heading south. The dodge came to a rest facing the opposite direction. The jeep came to a rest in the center of the southbound lane on it’s wheels.
Emergency personnel with the Mat-Su Borough arrived on the scene around 8:45 am. The single occupant of the jeep was extricated and taken to Mat-Su Regional Hospital. The driver of the Dodge pickup appeared to be uninjured.
Traffic at a stand still was backed up along the southbound Glenn for about three miles.
Slick roads are expected to be a factor in the accident. This is a developing story check back as more information becomes available.
